Finding the motivation to go for a run can be difficult. Especially now, with this colder weather and shorter days. One of the motivations that get me to put on my running shoes is the idea of discovering new places to go for a run. Taking the focus away from running to exploring new routes can make the decision of whether or not to leave your cosy home a lot easier. Luckily, Ghent has countless beautiful spots for running with its historic centre and green surroundings. Over the years its been a passion to map as many routes as possible, from short distances of less than 2 km up to half and full marathons. Since the recent corona breakout, I've witnessed an increased enthusiasm for running that is clearly seen in the number of runners you pass while enjoying your workout. Therefore, I would love to share my experience of running in Ghent for more than 7 years with everyone, from the experienced long-distance runner to the recently starting runner.
So, if you're here to find inspiration for running routes while enjoying some of the pictures that I've taken along the way, you've come to the right place!
I've split the routes into different categories, depending on their distance. You can click on any of them to find your new favourite route!
